Each Wednesday, Joe will choose a Pet of the Week and will highlight that pet! A new pet will be chosen and featured each week!
Say hello to Sarabi, a sweet soul in need of gentle love. She is a beautiful 2-year old lab mix from Puerto Rico whose life began in fear and survival. She was found living in a storm drain, alone, hiding from the world that had clearly not been kind to her. It’s impossible to know all she has endured, but we see the signs of trauma every day. Sarabi is incredibly sweet but she is frightened, especially when she thinks she may be hurt. She doesn’t know that hands can be gentle and that love doesn’t come with pain. Despite everything, she wants to trust and she wants safety. Sarabi needs someone patient, kind, and nurturing who will show her that she is finally safe and never needs to be afraid agoian. Sarabi needs a calm loving home where she can heal at her own pace and learn what it means to be cherished. If you have the heart to change a life forever, let’s give Sarabi a new lease on life for the new year!

Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and have rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets.
