Joe Rock and WBAB have teamed up with Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue & Adoption to help find your Pawfect Pet!
Each Wednesday, Joe will choose a Pet of the Week and will highlight that pet! A new pet will be chosen and featured each week!

Meet Jackson! Jackson is a sweet and friendly 8 year old Lab mix that bears the scars of a dog that lived in a hoarding household with 200 other dogs in Kentucky. The filth and horror are unimaginable. What he endured should have broken him but instead somehow made him even sweeter.
Despite all that he is a wonderful and happy boy who loves to be loved and greets the world with a soft heart and a hopeful tail wag.
Those scars simply tell the story of a survivor. What they don’t show is his gentle spirit, his loving nature and how deeply he deserves a safe warm home to call his own.
He gets along with other dogs and loves everyone he meets. He probably would do best in a home where he has another canine friend.
Jackson is proof that scars do not define a soul. The “perfect” dogs aren’t always the most polished or the youngest, sometimes they are the ones that have waited the longest and loved the hardest. Jackson has survived the worst now he needs someone to give him the very best.
To adopt Jackson, or if you are interested, you can fill out an application in advance at saveapetusa.org/adoption-application.
Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and have rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets. We work diligently to educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
If you are looking to adopt a pet, please view the dogs and cats at our Long Island adoption shelter and then fill out our online adoption application at saveapetusa.org
